Center for Cartoon Studies

All the main operational and educational facilities of the Center for Cartoon Studies are located in the former Colodny’s Surprise Department Store Building. Built in 1929, the building is the only Art Deco building in downtown White River Junction, and is built partially with Antique Verde marble quarried from Rochester, Vermont.  CCS inhabits the first floor and basement of the building and includes multiple offices, a classroom, and an "open basement studio."  (Info courtesy of Wikipedia)

main street museum

The Main Street Museum was founded in 1992 by David Fairbanks Ford in an area of White River Junction, known as the Old South End.  It is located in the old fire station building.

Hotel Coolidge

It was born in 1879 as the second incarnation of the Junction House, and renamed for Colonel John Calvin Coolidge, father of the president and close friend of the other colonel who ran the hotel. The President himself stayed here a few times. (Info Wikipedia)

The items they sell are just taken from old  homes and buidlings.  The building dates back to 1895.
