fort niagara

Fort Niagara is a fortification originally built to protect the interests of New France in North America. It is located near Youngstown, New York, on the eastern bank of the Niagara River at its mouth, on Lake Ontario.

Lake Ontario, you can see Toronto skyline, it's rather tiny on the otherside.  The bush you see down by the water is lined up with the view.  Can you see the skyline?

Ellenbaum cemetery plot

J.H. Ellenbaum:  1849-1924

Louise R. Ellenbaum:  date of birth unknown - 1912

Clark E. Ellenbaum  08 Oct 1881- 9 Feb 1907

A deep and lasting gloom was cast over the home of Mr. and Mrs, J. H. Ellenbaum of No. 322 Niagara street Saturday night by the death of their only child. Clarke Edward Ellenbaum, who passed away at 9:30 p. m.

Death was very unexpected although he had been a patient sufferer from typhoid fever for the past 11 weeks. The deceased was bright and cheerful at supper time when he ate liberally of the food which was allowed him. About 9 o'clock there was a turn for the worse and he expired in a very few minutes. His parents are nearly prostrated with grief.

The deceased was born on Oct. 8th, 25 years ago, and spent his entire life in this city. He was a member of the choir of St. Peter's church for the past 17 years and was also a member of St. Andrew's Brotherhood and the Y.M.C.A.
